To understand why I started the brand it’s probably good to explain to you a little about my up bringing. I grew up with fresh allotment produce, which always decked our family table. We cycled everywhere to get from A to B and I used to cycle to school and park my bike at the vicarage. The health food shop was our ‘go to’, and we also composted so living sustainably was just part of my life….. ohhhh and we had a vintage Morris Minor with no seat belts, can you believe!!
My mum, a retired nurse, would always find natural remedies to cure our ailments so the aromas of tiger balm and eucalyptus are very nostalgic. Our family lived a very simplistic life and from a young age I have had a passion for sustainable and natural products.
I started ‘Myrtle & Maude’ because life has become so stressful and hectic and the simple ‘good life’ is quite hard to attain in the modern world. I saw that there was a lack of natural solutions that were easy and convenient to use especially for Women’s health & wellness and specifically for the pregnancy journey.
A passion for natural living was in my blood and we named the brand after our grandmothers as homage to the values that have been passed down through the generations. Myrtle & Maude’s range employs the uplifting, soothing and settling powers of plants and herbs to combat the trials and tribulations of pregnancy and the women’s wellness journey. We know the natural world, and take inspiration from the earth and its raw beauty to provide, unique blends formulated by our herbalist, created to provide comfort and wellbeing.
